Modular Small Founding Nest – All-In-One

This DMS All-In-One Small Founding nest offers a small, secure space for newly founding ant colonies, with ideal conditions for brood care and colony establishment.

The small, inner chamber can be locked off from the rest of the nest with the supplied red gate, perfect for that small to large claustral queen. Swap the full gate for gate with a small opening for that picky small semi-claustral queen that wants to hunt & forage but likes to retreat to her founding chamber. Remove the gate all together for medium semi-claustral queens.

The larger, outer chamber can be used as a small feeding/outworld area until additional nests and outworlds are required.

The two covers are used for two different times in colony development. The smaller covers the the inner founding chamber only, allowing the feeding area to be accessed and monitored. The larger cover comes into play when the colony has grown to use the outer chamber as another nest chamber and not a feeding area.

Access to both chambers is via the “brood boost” portal, using the twist lock to help secure the portal cover.
Access the inner chamber to add brood, “boosted” from an established colony of the same species.
Access the outer chamber to feed, and clean up the feeding area.
